...and it was pretty good.

This past weekend I picked up Lego Jurassic World for the boyfriend (we'll call him C) and I to finish, since we had started it about a week earlier and I was really wanting to finish it. This game is awesome and is a game that really anyone can enjoy. Lego Jurassic World is a Lego action-adventure game, developed by Traveller's Tales, that centers around all 4 of the Jurassic movies and plays through each of them. You can start with Jurassic World or you can start at the very beginning with Jurassic Park.
It took us a good 12 hours or so to finish the 4 main stories, and then we spent another couple just gathering mini kits, which can be used to make skeleton dinosaurs, and collecting all of the amber, which unlock dinosaurs and dna. After finishing the story I went through and looked at the achievements and realized trying to complete this game would take forever so if you like to 100% something and spend 32 million years doing it, this might be your game.
A couple of things that were super bummers for me, the game needs some patching, and while I know a lot of games need patches, Lego Jurassic broke for us a couple times and I was lucky I had a second player with me or I would have had to restart several times over. It also crashed entirely on us at one point. Another thing, playing the Lego Jurassic World storyline made me not really want to see the movie, unfortunately. We'd already heard okay things about it, but from the trailers and now playing the game I still don't feel a gigantic urge and will probably wait to rent it at some point. Maybe I'll marathon the movies, just like the game.
The best part of the entire game was creating your own dinosaur. You'll have to collect all the amber to get all the features, and we're still missing some dinosaurs it seemed after looking through the switching, but you can mix and match the dna of different dinos to make the most ridiculous things ever. I think we put the head of T-Rex on the body of a brachiosaurus with a stegosaurus back, and then made it pink and white with stars all over it. I then got to put it in a paddock and play as that pink and white beauty.
Lego Jurassic was an addicting, and really fun game, and if I had the time I would sit down and complete the entire thing. The story is really fun for kids and also very nostalgic for adults who have seen the movies; they add twists and goofy moments to make up for the bloody violence they pulled out. I highly recommend this game if you're looking for a good couch co-op game or some dino-good fun.
My final scoring is an 8/10.
